The
Dream Theatre Company
Was born out of the Storrington Dramatic Society, itself a successful 60 years young local amateur dramatic society staging 3 to 5 productions per year since before most of us were born. The impetus behind Dream Theatre Co. is specifically to stage open air productions of quality amateur standing, involving as many neighboring theatrical societies as possible, and as many people from all walks and ages as possible from the local (Sussex) area. |

Dream Theatre Co. formation
The Dream Theatre Co. was formed in the spring of 1999 following a most successful production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' staged in the grounds of Parham Park in June 1998 organised by the 'Dream Team', within Storrington Dramatic Society. The logistics of organising an open-air production being very different from what Storrington Dramatic Society has traditionally staged in the village hall meant a separate management team was required, and this has needed to gain certain independence in order to flourish.
|
Parham House The Dream Theatre Co. would not have become a reality without the support of Parham House. Parham allowed the performances of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' in 1998 and 'Romeo & Juliet' in 2000 to be put on in the pleasant grounds at Parham without charge being made for the use of the ground.

Brian
Tugwell and Stephen Helme [see below] who found they worked well together
and galvanised the Dream Team to produce the successful 'A Midsummer
Night's Dream' in June 1998, have been instrumental in setting up the
Dream Theatre Co. framework with the object of staging an open air production
every second year. |
